Escape

The air tries to stop me

Bony fingers rip and cling

It shrieks in my ears

The cries seem to sing

With all its might it pulls and grabs

Every shred of its essence, quivering mad

I fight right back

I push to go faster

Sweat beads on my brow

Body brimming with laughter

The howl is ear-splitting

It’s too late to stop now

Defeat makes it crazy

Anger pours from its great maw

I fly down the stair set

The screams fade away

The beast is all gone now

It has no more to say
